The Inter-Residence Hall Council held a blood drive yesterday at Palladium residence hall for the New York Blood Center.
"It's about five to six hours altogether. We started today at 11 and we [ended] at 4:45," said Tanisha Green, of the New York Blood Center. "We go to a lot of different locations. We go to buses at NYU, we go to dorms; we have a fairly good presence at NYU."
According to Sindu Lakshmana, CAS sophomore and IRHC Community Service Chair, there are usually around 40 to 60 people who show up.
"We aim for 40 pints of blood," she said. "We had a lot of people come today. The problem was that a lot of people got rejected due to traveling a lot over winter break or low iron level."
This is the second time IRHC held a blood drive this year. The first event was held during Welcome Week.
