Founders residence hall is NYU's newest and most desirable freshman dorm. From the Church of St. Ann's facade that graces the entrance to the spacious and immaculate suites, Founders is a great place to start off your college experience. It's true that being the first to live in the dorm, we may be a bit spoiled, but who's to say that's a bad thing?
No matter if you're on the second floor or the 26th floor, your room will be big enough to fit two roommates, all your worldly possessions, maybe two or three visitors and even an air mattress or two. Sure, the closet space may be a little funky, but it's worth it to come home and not feel like you're sitting on top of your roommate. With two-bedroom suites throughout, 700 freshman residents and three study lounges (two of which have flat-screen TVs), you're getting the ultimate dorm experience.
Founders also has the added incentive of being a few blocks away from the main campus. Granted, this may not be ideal if you like to wake up 10 minutes before class (especially with the regular two-to-three-minute elevator wait in the morning); it is great to be away from the mass of students when you want some time to yourself. You may get a little friendly with the dining staff at Third North and Palladium, but there are always dozens of other eateries to choose from if you want to shy away from the pizza diet.
