Goddard residence hall can't be beat for its location, right along Washington Square East and West Fourth Street. There's a Starbucks right downstairs and air conditioning and heating units in every room. The few negatives are that the rooms are relatively small, there is no dining hall and there is the occasional mouse in the suites. But all of these are easy to adapt to, and if you're ever scared away by that mouse, it's helpful that the Kimmel Center, Silver, Weinstein and Hayden are nearby.
It should be noted that Goddard is part of the Residential College, so you have to apply to live there. The ResCollege separates the dorm into various "streams" centered around themes including community service, drama and literature. It also hosts innumerable programs both in the dorm and out in the city, and demands community service of its residents. Goddard RAs also make an extra effort to build a community among floormates, so it isn't unlikely to find people eating dinner or playing music and games in the hallways. Space Market is also less than five minutes away and while it's pricey, it's a good 24/7 snack option nearby. The laundry room takes campus cash and it's only $1 per wash or dry.
