Buy to support: products for breast cancer awareness

via esteelauder.com

There is no shortage of events happening in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, yet for those with busy schedules, one simple way to support awareness is by shopping. Around this time every year, pink products fill shelves in support of breast cancer awareness, but not all donate most or even some of the proceeds toward veritable charities. Here are five items that provide the most benevolence for your buck:

Kohl’s Cares: An Exclusive Collection by Tek Gear: 100 percent of the net profit of sales for this exclusive collection will be donated to support the fight against breast cancer. The collection features sportswear items such as running shorts, tee shirts, baseball caps and other athletic gear, all of which are inexpensive. The collection is available online, at kohls.com.

Level 99 Janice Ultra Skinny Pants for Breast Cancer Awareness: These bright pink pants were “created for a cause” and feature an embroidered ribbon on the waistband. Fifty percent of all proceeds from the sale of these pants will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Though a little pricey, the pants are now on sale for $81.

T Kees Harmony Breast Cancer Awareness Flip Flops: Fifty percent of sales of these patent leather sandals will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The sandals, available for $50, feature a pink thong on a brown base, and though flip-flop season has passed, at the very least they’ll get you through laundry room runs stylishly until spring returns.

Evelyn Lauder Dream Compact: Solid Perfume Metal Compact: 100 percent of the retail price for this perfume compact will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The item is part of the Evelyn Lauder Dream Collection, honoring Evelyn Lauder’s dream of eliminating breast cancer during our lifetime. The square-shaped compact features a touch of blue color to represent the 1 percent of men who are affected by breast cancer. The compact is filled with Estée Lauder products and includes a velvety pouch to protect the compact. $49.50

Breast Cancer Crusade Watch by Avon: A hundred percent of net proceeds from sales of these watches will be donated to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. The watch is available in two sizes — small with a pink bezel, and large with a black bezel. The body of both watches is in black. At only $20, these watches are an affordable choice.

Project Pink Soccer Shorts by Puma: Puma’s Project Pink donates 100 percent of profits from sales of this collection to a charity that helps the cause (which will be chosen by online voters). These soccer shorts come in pink and black, and feature a ribbon drawstring detail as a token of the cause. More information on Project Pink can be found at the PUMA Football Facebook page. The shorts are $28 on Puma’s website.
