Veronica Beard Spring/Summer 2015

There is no better way to describe the Veronica Beard Spring/Summer 2015 show other than “Spring Awakening.”  Various floral prints and pastel colors dominated the presentation as models displayed the designers duos’ strong layering abilities.

From the beehive hair to the rose-tinted nail polish, the collection alluded to the 1960s in many facets.

“Graceful confidence and fierce femininity shine through,” the Beards said.

The short-sleeved shirtdresses also referenced the sixties in both black and faded sherbet colors. However, the collection was given a modern twist with the appearance of bold blazers and feminine jumpsuits.

The two sister-in-law designers are not known to shy away from mixing and layering prints, and they delivered on that expectation tenfold in this collection. Palm garden printed tops with tiger printed pencil midi skirts showcased the designers’ abilities to balance contrasting prints without overwhelming the eyes of the audience.

Perhaps the most noteworthy look at the presentation was one of many layered creations. The look featured a mint striped sweater-shirt under a tiger printed jacket assembled with a garden-patterned pleated skirt. While it is a bit of a mouthful, the piece was both balanced and chic. Cat-eyed sunglasses were also paired with the look to tastefully complete the ‘60s diva persona.

While mixing patterns and layering is nothing new, the Veronica Beard collection offers a new perspective by adding a ‘60s vintage vibe while also staying true to modern styles. Sixties fashion was fun, flirty, and fabulous—the epitome of spring energy—and it’s definitely back again here in 2015.
