Tadashi Shoji Fall/Winter 2015

The Salon at Lincoln Center roared as Tadashi Shoji took the runway following his Fall/Winter 15 show earlier today.

With this collection, Shoji not only showed his proficiency in the current monochrome trend, using mostly black and white fabrics, but also his ability to explore colors, with dark purple and green gowns.

The show began with black notes, white paper, and an electric violin. The models showed off their legs with sleek, monochrome looks. The clothes slowly started getting wilder with fur and feathers, then calmed again with more flowery designs. Transitioning to the music of a piano, Shoji juxtaposed a white model wearing a black dress with white flowers and a black model wearing a white dress with black flowers.

The show then continued to grow in color with the introduction of Shoji’s signature gowns. Shoji showed off a royal ruby look along with several dank contrasts of purples and greens.  The tulle gowns were romantic and dramatic, sure to be seen on some major stars this red carpet season.

What started as a strong show only grew, impressing the the audience and ending with a bang to a remix of the James Bond Skyfall theme.
