The Angel Sanchez Spring/Summer 2016 collection was a jovial blend of fresh florals and refined silhouettes. A sleeveless gazar wrap dress opened the show, setting the stage for a collection filled with bold jacquard prints and plexi floral embroidery. With its fluid fabrics and breathtaking tea-length dresses transported the audience out of the city and into the serenity and harmonious idiosyncrasy of a tropical rainforest.

Sporting nail polish by Morgan Taylor and simple, chic hairstyles worn down, Sanchez ushered in day-glo tones, crinkle organza ball gowns and wrap skirts with elegance and modernity. Lace and trikado jumpsuits with draped sleeves and fitted waistbands, combined with chartreuse and coral hues signaled the arrival of Spring. Struck by a the strapless shantung gazar ball gown with an acetate embroidered skirt, Disney Channel actress Sabrina Carpenter found the collection chic and refined.

Simplistic makeup by MAC Cosmetics allowed the garments to remain in the spotlight. Even the backs of the dresses conveyed intricate and embossed florals, representing the meticulous eye of the designer. The tropical colors stood in stark contrast to the nude and natural makeup.

Most prominent was a crepe jumpsuit with hand-cut leather flowers on illusion sleeves as well as the peplum gazar top with an illusion neckline, hand-cut flowers and shorts. Finally, an orange and white strapless, printed, floral ballgown with hand-cut flowers at the waist drew the show to a sophisticated and classic close.

Notable attendees included Sabrina Carpenter, Miss Universe Paulina Vega and Real Housewife of New York Dorinda Medley.
