“The oldest story in the book – I was scouted by my agent at a shopping center after school and just sort of fell into it”

What is your favorite part about modeling?
The talent and the passion that I get to meet. There’s a lot of ego, but there’s also a lot of ingenuity and ambition that’s hard to see anywhere else. It’s an industry that’s always evolving and reacting, and it’s an environment that can really inspire you.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Do you see yourself  still modeling?
I think I’ll just take things as they come. It’s hard to plan ahead with modeling because it’s so transitory. I love fashion, but I don’t know if I want to be working in it forever. Hopefully, in five years, I’m a little closer to my goal of being a film director, and that I’m still learning and traveling working on Asian cinema.

Advice for those trying to make it in the fashion industry?

At the end of the day, if you want to model, you should learn to accept refusals as growths of character and not attacks on your physical attributes, and be ambitious but never expectant.
