Located on University Pl. only a block away from Washington Square Park, Weinstein is the perfect dorm for those who want to roll out of bed five minutes before class and still make it to class on time. The dorm consists of nearly 600 first year residents, the majority of whom live in double rooms. Some singles and low-cost triple rooms are also available. There is also a lounge on the second floor with a big-screen TV, ping pong table and a communal kitchen.

The biggest perk of Weinstein is its convenience. It takes just a couple minutes to walk to Bobst and almost all NYU buildings. The dorm essentially acts as a campus hub, meaning residents are right in the middle of all campus activity. There are also multiple subway stations within walking distance so you don’t have to worry about getting stuck in the NYU bubble.

The rooms in Weinstein do not have kitchens, but there’s certainly no shortage of food sources. Weinstein has four dining halls including the all-you-can-eat buffet Downstein, the food court Upstein that features Chick-fil-A and Quiznos, the Kosher Cafe and the recently added market Sidestein.

Weinstein’s biggest drawback is its unappealing cinderblock walls, which at first might seem dreary and prison-like, but can easily be decorated to provide a more cozy feel.

Weinstein is a highly convenient dorm in a great location, but would not be suitable for students interested in apartment-style living.
