Clear bubble umbrella, Urban Outfitters, $18
Spring is a rainy season. If you're not a fan of raincoats and galoshes, it's time to invest in an umbrella that won't turn inside out and leave you soaked. The bubble umbrella is practical, trendy and cute for two. So have your significant other hold your hand, and this umbrella, at the same time.

Skinny tie, American Apparel, $24
Androgyny never looked so good. It comes in gingham patterns, but there's something about the light charcoal. It's classic, it's simple and it adds a nice touch of business-chic without the stiff formality. Pair it with a crisp button-up or a dress for an effortless, put-together look.

Condom, Marc Jacobs, $1.50
There's another way to go couture this season besides lace and lingerie. Marc Jacobs sagely scribbles inside the packaging of his line of condoms: "Remember, Safety First! xxoo, Marc Jacobs." No glove, no love, my friends. High-end fashion doesn't stop below the belt. This condom not only comes with a designer label, but also in an assortment of colors, allowing you to coordinate with the spring season.

Sperry Top-Sider® Authentic Original broken-in chino boat shoes, J. Crew, $118
It's a J. Crew-kissed boat shoe with cotton chambray lining, leather laces and distressed accents. The vintage gray is crisp, clean and dapper — a perfect companion to rolled up skinny jeans and summer boat trips.

While you're at J. Crew and on the lookout for steals under $100, sneak a look at their lightweight, point-collar poplin shirt ($59.50) or their sun-faded oxford shirts ($65). They are soft, slim and airy with their indie-inspired tailoring, and a nice way to round out the whole Cape Cod look.

Marjorie metallic leather ballet flats, J. Crew, $98
Something that will probably never go out of season, this basic closet staple comes in metallic silver, graphite, blush and gold. From the trim to the tied bow to the overall sparkle and shine, it goes with just about anything. The shoe gives outfits a little bedazzling pick-me-up, and makes it easy to transition from the sidewalks to the sticky-floored dance clubs.

Their chiffon flower pins are now $8.99 — flowers in spring might be a little cliché, but a tiny floral signature is a charming touch. Or if you prefer to cover your head, get J. Crew's summer straw hat ($34) to offer you constant shade under the sun: wide-brimmed, whimsical and reminiscent of antiquity.
