1. Start with a clean face and pull your hair back. To get makeup to last, apply a dime-sized amount of foundation primer on your face. We used Smashbox Photo Finish Light Oil-free Foundation Primer, $36.

2. Apply concealer or foundation. We used Shiseido The Makeup Dual Balancing Foundation in 040, $38.50. Slowly dot your eyes with liner at the lash line and smudge. We love Sephora Brand Nano eyeliner in 921B, $5. Curl lashes and apply mascara. We used Maybelline XXL Pro Mascara in Black, $6.49. Add a taupe eyeshadow on your eyelids. Try Make Up For Ever eyeshadow in 127, $19.
3. To keep lipstick from fading throughout the day, first use a primer such as MAC Prep+Prime, $14.50. For lipstick, we chose a natural color, Chanel Rouge Lipstick in Emotion, $30.
4. Dust on NARS blush in Orgasm, $26.
5. Untie your hair. Now you're ready to face the day with resiliently smudge-free makeup!
