Nobody knows her real name. She's known as Nubby Twiglet, the same name as her fashion blog

Twiglet first created the blog in August 2007 out of a desire to share her style inspirations and life experiences with a wider audience. A graphic designer by day, her remarkable blog has unique features like This Week in Pictures, Best of New York, and What I Wore. It's also garnered a large following of style devotees.

A friend suggested the website to me last spring and I added it to my bookmarks immediately after my first visit. What I loved most was how clean-cut her blog looked — a refreshing deviation from many fashion sites. The blog's design is at once innovative and organized, allowing it to take on the polished appearance of an online magazine.

Although Twiglet's favorite designers include Rick Owens, Givenchy, Miu Miu and Alexander Wang, she said she doesn't "walk around in fresh-off-the-catwalk fashion in everyday life." You can find her shopping at more affordable stores like H&M and Forever 21, or browsing the racks at vintage shops for sequins, studs and slim-fitting silhouettes. Her personal wardrobe features "sleek, modern and monochromatic ensembles that have an extreme, space-age aesthetic."

Twiglet, who favors military details, cited Michael Jackson as one of her main influences. She also has a penchant for 1960s fashion. In fact, it was her love of the 60s model Twiggy that spurred the idea for her blog name.

She encourages aspiring young fashion bloggers to be original in generating content for their sites.

"Develop a unique vision based on your personal aspirations and experiences," Twiglet said. "Once you begin blogging, keep a consistent schedule. Overnight success is very rare — most really great bloggers have spent years perfecting their image and content. And when times get hard, passion will pull you through."
