Imagine Selita Ebanks dancing in mythical locations in an array of glamorous gowns. Is it the latest Kanye video? No, it is Marc Bouwer's latest collection. Held in the SoHo House, the space felt like an industry party rather than a fashion show. Models posed with insiders on a red carpet inside the hotel while others watched while sipping on complimentary Ciroc cocktails.

Rather than have a runway show, Bouwer chose to exhibit his collection as a film. Patrons filed into a theatre with plush leather chairs and put on their 3-D glasses to see the collection. Bouwer produced a collection dominated by eveningwear. Sequined mini-dresses mix with long flowing gowns and bright red as a central color in this latest collection.

But the focus is just as much on the performance and the digital effects, allowing the clothing to fall by the wayside. Selita Ebanks traversed through futuristic landscapes, snow, fire and a stroll through a mystical forest.

This was certainly a very new take on how to present a collection, and maybe that is where fashion is headed in this new technological age, but there was something that did not transfer even through the 3-D glasses. The fabrics were less distinct and you could not really see how the dresses would flow, but Bouwer does not seem to mind.

This is not just a fashion show but a whole performance. And who knows, maybe Kanye will have some competition for video sales once this collection is released.
