It's a hard life for the Parisian playboy. What with his little plaything, still in her skort, comatose under the fur blankets in his salon, or parlor, the room being unimportant of course — in his plush estate he has the choice to pick where he lays. That gumption, confidence even, that ordered the bar tender to pour two more dirty martinis made its way onto the Mackage fall runway.

You could feel the cobblestone of Paris's seventh arrondissement under the night sky as the models strutted. They could be off to Bound Bar with expectations of forgetting the coming evening. There were hard leathers, slick, that hugged the girls. In the mens trenches and overcoats, a sort of strictness. The Mackage show had its highlights. A sheer spruce top with armor shoulder draping and a black leather skirt had a rough and tumble, yet strikingly elegant, vibe. Another sheer, this time in off white, pleated blouse that looked like rose petals and accordion sleeves felt new.

But as the collection wore on, you could feel a sense of boredom set in. How can any man or woman, with wealth at their disposal, make tomorrow more extravagant than today. Designers Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan tried to liven up gowns and shift dresses with a teal jacquard brocade — but it felt tired. The merlots, toffees and blacks were too much of a ho-hum palette. Then again the best bet for the French womanizer may be to just curl back up and wait with his harlot.
