Beginning Monday, Uncle Sam's New York Tours, a New York City tour guide organization, will give a special Halloween Greenwich Village Ghost Tour through the West Village.

Jack Stanley, a tour guide at Uncle Sam's, designed the West Village tour and describes it as "a bit of history" and "a bit of ghosts."

He assures people that all of the stops along the tour are eerie places where phantoms reside.

The tour will consist of a two-hour walk that showcases supposedly haunted West Village hot spots. The spooky hauntings include the Mark Twain House, the Jekyll and Hyde Restaurant, and even NYU dorm: Brittany residence hall.

"Brittany Hall," Stanley said with a chuckle, "is famous for many hauntings within the building. Graduates come and graduates go, but the folks in Brittany Hall are very happy where they are."

Steinhardt sophomore Molly Wachtel said when she lived in Brittany Hall last year she did not notice anything out of the ordinary, but her roommate "always felt some sort of presence."

But those that frighten easily need not worry. Julien Mellon, the general manager of Uncle Sam's, said the tour is "kind of scary, but its not scary, scary. There are lots of spooky stories, but there's nothing that's inappropriate for children."

Tours will begin Oct. 26 and last until Oct. 31. Each tour begins at 2 p.m. under the Washington Square Arch at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Waverly Place.

Those that want to indulge in the Halloween spirit can make reservations at unclesamsnewyork.com or call 212.888.8769. Be warned: You may encounter ghoulish spirits.
