Stern graduate student Nehanda Loiseau, who is Haitian-American, spoke of the pain and longing she feels for her family in Haiti while she lives safely in New York. “I have an overwhelming sense of guilt knowing that my aunt and uncle have been sleeping outside for days,” Loiseau said.
