New cosmetic products to try while supporting meaningful cause

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and supporting the fight against breast cancer can be much easier than you think. Every year, cosmetic companies develop special breast cancer awareness products, the profits of which go directly to breast cancer research. Substitute one of your normal beauty essentials for a product that supports a good cause before the month is over.

Sephora features a collection of products that support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation by donating its profits to the cause. One of the most popular items is the Breast Cancer Awareness Makeup Palette ($25), which has 12 lip glosses, 36 eye shadows and 6 blushes in various shades of pink. The ultra-flattering shades are perfect for subtle, everyday makeup. If you are looking for something for your nails, skip a trip to the nail salon and try the Breast Cancer Awareness Manicure Set ($20), a set of four manicure tools and a bright pink case that makes doing your nails a breeze.

Conair has also released a collection supporting breast cancer awareness. These pink hair styling tools support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Products in the collection include the Conair Ceramic Ultra Slim Straightener for BCRF ($35) — a sleek hair straightener featuring a soft-grip handle, 60-second heat up with more than 25 different heat settings and hot pink ceramic plates — as well as the Conair Power of Pink Ionic Hair Styler ($26), which is a lightweight, soft pink hairdryer featuring three different heat and speed settings. The collection also includes two different sets of hot rollers and a curling iron, for those who want to add more bounce to their look. The cheery, pink hues add some fun to your daily routine while supporting a worthy cause.

Makeup and hair companies are not the only ones determined to make a difference. Various fragrance brands have also come up with new scents and donate profits to breast cancer research. Donna Karan recently introduced a new fragrance called Cashmere Mist ($98), an intoxicating, exotic scent that mixes soft florals with warm musk and sandalwood. For each 3.4 oz. bottle sold, 20 percent of the revenue goes directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Hanae Mori Eau de Collection, a collection of fragrances available at Nordstrom, released a new scent called Hanae Mori Eau de Collection N° 7 ($95). This perfume has a sweet scent that combines the aroma of fruit and flowers with a subtle hint of freshly baked Parisian desserts — all in a bright pink bottle. Proceeds from this product benefit the
National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund.

Don’t forget to pamper your skin, especially as the colder weather starts to bring drier air. Aveda Pink Ribbon Hand Relief ($23) is a lotion designed to relieve dry hands from the long, winter months. The rich lotion comes in a limited edition tube featuring the iconic pink ribbon, and a portion of all sales will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. For your face, try Clinique Breast Cancer Limited Edition Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion ($36). This special edition of Clinique’s most popular face moisturizer is in a bottle that comes with a signature breast cancer key ring featuring three different charms.
