Jorge Arteaga’s Fall/Winter 2015 presentation returned to the garment district, mixing and mingling fabrics and textures throughout a versatile women’s wear collection. Sequins, fringe and leather details were paired with delicate wools and organza, making each piece classic and alluring.

One bold look reinvented a classic silhouette. A beautifully tailored, high-waisted skirt with a thigh-high slit was paired with a sheer white blouse. The blouse had thin lace detailing that ran diagonally across its front. Arteaga complimented the feminine form and accented this otherwise monochromatic outfit with a gold-tipped black cord belt tied gently at the waist.

Another standout piece from Arteaga’s collection was a twist on the traditional tunic. Black faux fur paneled the  v-neck front while sheer mesh lined the upper back and hem of the dress. “This is the same pattern from our Spring collection,” Arteaga explained, and pointed out a woman in the crowd of admirers wearing last season’s piece.

Previously lightweight, iridescent, and embellished with layered fabric petals, the tunic’s Winter-edition was entirely transformed into a more luxurious, and edgy garment. With only four presentations under his belt, Arteaga is fearlessly making headway into the New York fashion scene. Driven by this vision of reinvented classicism, he will surely be here to stay.

Arteaga states, “Classic is always here. I want to make classic women’s wear with modern, intricate details.” His collection of updated timeless pieces allows for women to invest in statement pieces that will last season after season. Truly a ready-to-wear line, each separate can be gracefully departed from its placement on the runway to find its home on the shoulders and waists of the most sophisticated women of any age.
