Founders Hall is NYU’s newest residence hall, boasting 26 floors and and spacious, modern rooms. A traditional first-year hall, Founders consists of four person suites with two bedrooms connected by a small hallway and shared bathroom. Each room has an extra-large window covering one of its walls, offering a great view of the city.

Founders is known for its clean facilities. On the second floor is a study lounge, equipped with computers and a printer, and the third and fourth floors have a TV lounge.

Although Founders’ rooms do not include kitchens, the closest dining hall, Third North’s Courtyard Cafe, is less than a block away. Palladium Hall, which also includes a food court and a gym, is located just two streets away on 14th Street. With Union Square only a few minutes walk away, the surrounding area includes lots of places to shop, grocery stores, places to eat and a few movie theaters.

In addition to the Residence Hall Director and the rest of the professional staff, Founders has a Writing Affiliate, — an NYU professor there to help the residents go through their first year of writing college papers. The staff, Resident Assistants on each floor as well as members of hall council, work together to put on several programs and activities to make Founders feel like home. Even though it has over 700 students, there is a definite sense of community at Founders Hall.
