Mille—Feuille, a traditional French bakery serving pastries from Raspberry Almond Croissants to Nutella Brioche, is only one on the list of best fall menus around NYU.

The leaves haven’t even changed color and we’re already hearing those three dreaded words Pumpkin Spice Latte. Starbucks is great, but there are so many other seasonal treats to be found around the Village! However, since they are not advertised as much, they may be easily overlooked. After marching around with a cup of coffee in hand, scouting out the best menus, snacks and pastries around NYU, these places made the cut for spots you should hit up.

Insomnia Cookies

116 MacDougal St

Deliciously finger-licking year round, Insomnia Cookies will be the light that illuminates your study sessions. Currently, they’re wrapping up with their “end of summer” promotions (you can still get 3 free chocolate chip cookies with any order). However, we are anticipating their limited time fall cookies, like last year’s orange cranberry sweet. Keep a lookout for this season’s special! Plus, they deliver until 3 a.m., great for midterm all-nighters.

Cafe Dante

79-81 MacDougal St

Also on MacDougal Street, Cafe Dante has a constantly changing seasonal menu. They are finishing up tomato and peach reserves they had over the summer, but are also currently serving their decadent banana bread with ricotta and honey. They serve an array of pastries and their cooking smells delicious. Be it for brunch, cocktails or just a midafternoon snack, Cafe Dante surely is the place to stop at.

Mille-Feuille

552 LaGuardia Pl

In the mood for French macarons and pastries? Mille-Feuille’s the right place. Diagonally across the street from the LaGuardia Co-Op, this small cafe has traditional pastries and some avant-garde ideas. Their Nutella brioche is amazing and the raspberry almond croissant smells delicious. Mille-Feuille is definitely a place to check out this fall.

Magnolia Bakery

401 Bleeker St

An all-time favorite, Magnolia Bakery never disappoints. Cupcake decorations may remain classic for now, but their fall themed decor is coming soon! Right now, they’re starting to serve their fall flavored cupcakes. During September, they’re having harvest apple topped with caramel meringue buttercream on Mondays, German chocolate cake with coconut caramel pecan icing on Tuesdays, caramel cake with caramel meringue buttercream topped with caramel drizzle on Wednesdays, flourless cake with vanilla bean meringue buttercream on Thursdays, carrot cake with cream cheese icing and walnuts on Fridays, confetti cupcakes on Saturdays and devil’s food cake with mocha icing on Sundays. Aside from these, this month’s featured cupcake is a peanut butter cake with jelly filling and peanut butter cream.
