Romeo Hunte S/S 2018

As a designer who dresses celebrities of the likes of Beyoncé and Zendaya, there were high expectations of Romeo Hunte’s Spring/Sumer 2018 presentation.

The show’s seafaring industrial location at New York’s Intrepid Museum was a stroke of genius due to it’s parallel to the collection’s vintage and utilitarian style. The fishnet stockings, work boots and army jackets complimented the surrounding planes and machines.

Located near the back of the event room, past the various product booths and statues, stood fishnet and army coat clad models, lined up at attention. To accompany their ensembles, each model had her hair in a style that represented an urban take on 1920s pinup hair, with pins still remaining. Hunte’s classic, sexy and trendy aesthetic shined through in this collection. Models were either dressed in only fishnet stockings for their bottoms, wore low cut dresses and shirts or kept sleek silhouettes.

Overall, Hunte’s  collection of vintage streetwear was a stunning combination of utility and glamour.
