Located on Washington Square West, which is an extension of MacDougal Street, the dorm formerly known as Hayden is a first-year’s paradise. With an in-house dining hall that prides itself on sustainability — including notable vegan, gluten-free and all-around healthier options — as well as being a quick walk away from MacDougal’s many late-night food options, Lipton’s got it all.

Recently reopened in 2015 after renovations, everything in Lipton is immaculate. Building amenities include study rooms, a dance room, music practice rooms, a commuter den and a second floor lounge with a community kitchen and television. And if you weren’t enticed enough already, there are also a number of dogs that call Lipton home.

The quick commute to campus makes this dorm particularly attractive, but it is also in the heart of Greenwich Village and just minutes from the West Village, offering Lipton-dwellers plenty to explore.

Lipton has low-cost rooms, including triple studios that are still enormously spacious, but for a little extra, there are also singles in Lipton. If you’re lucky, you might end up with a view of either the Empire State Building or the Freedom Tower, but no matter what setup or view, you’ll be lucky to call Lipton Home.
